The New Nicosia Shopping Mall

There is a new Shopping Centre in Nicosia, Cyprus called the Shacolas Emporium Park, which has just recently opened. I visited there in December for Christmas presents.

What Does It Have To Offer?

There are two floors. On the top floor there is a multiplex cinema, which shows the latest films. There is, also, all kinds of eating places, such as, Macdonalds, Chinese, Greek food and a Sandwich area. There are, also, a couple of coffee shops.

There are few shops on the top floor. There is a shop called Public, which is similar to Borders (in the UK). This shop is very big and caters for books, dvds, the latest computer games and music. All books, music and dvd films are catered for in English and the Greek language.

There are other shops on this floor, but mostly accessory and clothes shops.

On the bottom floor there is Next, Debenhams, Carrefour (hypermarket), Zara (men and women’s fashion), Intersport (a large sports shop), The Early Learning Centre and many more.

What Else?

Next door, outside the shopping centre, there is a new IKEA store. This has just opened this year. Huge just like in the UK. They do telephone ordering all over Cyprus (South only), whereby they send all their catalogues to every home in Cyprus and you can telephone to ask for your item to be sent to your home address. You do not even have to visit the store.

There is free parking for at least 2,500 cars and it is easy to get a space.

How To Get There

The shopping centre is near the motorway. You have to follow signs for Strovolos and The Cyprus Stock Exchange, as it is next door to this. All signs are in English, so it is very easy to find it. Driving there is easy and the motorway is always free of traffic.

If you are on holiday in Cyprus, ask your Holiday Representative if they do day trips to Nicosia. Perhaps, they may include a shopping trip.

Recommendation

I would recommend that you visit the shopping mall of Nicosia when in Cyprus. There are other shopping areas in Nicosia that are worth visiting too. You can make it a good day out by even going to see a film and having a meal out. Whatever you there for, it is a worth while visit to see what is on offer.
